B... Birchbox! September!

Sorry for the delay.  I know I promised this post on Friday, but I could not get it together.  Story of my life... let me tell you!

Well, September has finally arrived, well my September Birchbox that is!  I would say it is a solid month.  I got 5 items in total.... and I like all of them.

Here are they are:

1.  Incoco Nail Polish Applique (12 strips).  Full sized product (16 strips) sells for $7.99.  Value of sample is $5.99.

2.  Jouer Lip Enhancer (.07 fl oz).  Full sized product (.33 fl oz) sells for $14.  Value of sample $2.97.

3.  LIV GRN Earth Eau de Parfum (approx .5 fl oz).  Full sized product (3.4 fl oz) sells for $60.   Value of the sample $8.82.

4.  Pangea Organics Facial Cream (1 oz).  Full sized product (2 oz) sells for $36.  Value of the sample $18.

5.  Friendship Bracelet (no price)

Total value is $35.78.  I am most excited about the nail appliques.  When I visited Birchbox last month Katia and Hayley were both were them and I loved them.  I was secretly hoping for animal print ones to arrive in the mail, but I will take the blue sparkles for now! :)    I know a few readers were getting their first Birchbox this month, so are you guys happy?  Until next time.....xoxo

P is for Project!

So, since the wee one arrived, we have not had a real house project.  The husband loves a project and has been hankering for something new to work on!  Well, he now has one.  We have a strange room in our basement that is "finished" it has a fireplace and everything.  I will share more on the "update" of the room.   At one point, the husband had made some "improvements" in hopes at one point of having a "kick ass" man town.  But, he never really used the space.  My philosophy is use it or lose it! So, we have a three bedroom house, once Avery arrived we lost a guest room.   At Christmas we had more guests than beds.  So, we have decided to convert the basement room into a playroom/guest room.  Now, Avery will not use it as a playroom for quite a while, but I like to plan ahead!  It will be great to have some additional guest space.  So, in order for it to function as guest space and "hang out" or play space- we need sitting and...

I is for Inspiration...

I love this feature wall.  Usually I am not into feature walls, but in this case... LOVE IT!  I stumbled across this photo in Better Homes and Gardens magazine.  I could not find this photo on their website so sorry for my bad photo taken of the magazine page. As you know, I did a Board and Batten project in my master bedroom.  I have gotten lots of compliments on it!  I like a project that adds character to a house!  I have also admired exposed board walls like the one Miss Mustard Seed created.  Unfortunately, the exposed board look does not really go with the style of our house which has a lot of molding, wainscotting, etc.   I think it is a little too casual for our home.  If we had a cape or bungalow it would be great, but our Royal Barry Wills colonial calls for something else.
